CNC Setup Specialist — Precision Tungsten Manufacturing

This role involves setting up CNC machines for complex mill and lathe jobs for heavy alloy components. You will stage workholding, prove out new CNC programs, tune tooling, troubleshoot issues before releasing stable production, and partner closely with engineers and project managers to keep equipment running at its best.
Base pay range $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
Responsibilities
Install specified tooling and workholding on CNC equipment per setup instructions and job routers.
Configure machines with correct fixtures, tools, and material to execute production jobs.
Prove out new programs: set offsets, verify WCS, perform safe dry runs, and validate first‑article quality.
Troubleshoot machine programming issues (G‑code/M‑code, post output, tooling paths) and resolve runtime problems.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and teammates to optimize cycle times and quality.
Inspect, care for, and maintain machines and peripherals to ensure reliable performance.
Qualifications
3‑5 years of CNC setup or closely related machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, math, and computer aptitude.
Fluent reading of blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
GD&T familiarity—using datums, feature control frames, and symbols to define conditions and tolerances—is a plus.
Demonstrated problem‑solving and troubleshooting ability.
