Job Summary This position supports the Engineer/Project Manager in interfacing with the project’s general contractor and/or our partner engineering firm(s). It provides direction, coordination, and guidance to employees and contractors engaged in construction activities. The Construction Coordinator assists in the implementation of major, moderately complex field construction and engineering projects. Responsibilities include project planning, execution, control, and close‑out for the management of engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and turnover to the customer.

Job Responsibilities

Acts as a resident site member of the owner’s project team.

Collaborates with team members including the owner’s staff, contractors, suppliers, landowners, agencies, and others.

Ensures all construction activities comply with environmental permits, regulatory requirements, laws, leases, right‑of‑ways, and other agreements.

Builds and maintains relationships with municipal agencies, regulatory agencies, key local individuals, landowners, and the public to promote a positive image of the Project and the Company.

Ensures daily general activities of contractors and suppliers align with contract terms and the project schedule.

Manages receipt inspection and quality control and assurance processes to ensure suppliers meet technical specifications.

Oversees equipment storage and maintenance management.

Coordinates the development of the project schedule; participates in coordinating activities of all site participants to achieve optimum efficiency (constructability reviews); monitors, measures, and reports progress to the Engineer/Project Manager.

Supports the Owner’s representative in leading and enforcing a proactive safety program in concert with contractors (and subcontractors) and engineering firm(s).

Participates with the project team in developing, monitoring, and proactively achieving budget and cash flow goals.

Ensures work in progress is inspected timely and aligns with issued drawings and specifications.

Manages the Quality Control Inspection Program (QCIP) as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, project management, construction management, or related field preferred; a minimum of 5 years of construction experience or related experience such as plant operations or maintenance. Significant experience in construction, plant operations or maintenance will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Valid driver’s license and meet the company’s driving requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to adhere to, maintain and enforce safety standards/protocols.

Knowledge of OSHA 10 and 30 regulations.

Hands‑on experience in power plant projects, demonstration knowledge of codes and construction industry procedures, familiarity with large construction equipment such as excavators and cranes; experience working with union building trades; and administration of multi‑million dollar contracts.

Pay Range Minimum $76,932.70

Pay Range Maximum $132,708.94

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
