Plant Operations Technician I The Plant Operations Technician I performs a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, testing and inspections of physical plant equipment, preventive maintenance, and various janitorial duties with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Perform all tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, preventive maintenance, HVAC and tests and inspections of the physical plant.

Operate and maintain emergency power plant.

Perform preventive maintenance electrical test as well as the removal, installation and repair of all mechanical/electrical equipment with direct supervision of a supervisor.

Qualifications Education : High school graduate or GED required; preferred experience in the maintenance field for at least 4 years.

Experience : Must have experience in operating a variety of hand/power tools and equipment ensuring proper safety precautions. Incumbent must have an understanding of Ohm's Law and Refrigeration theory, as well as experience in the area of building maintenance and basic mechanical engineering.

Additional Requirements : CPR certification required. Must have complete knowledge of physical plant within 150 days of hire. Completion of Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment and prior to participating in a Code Green is required.
