Engineer- Construction - III
– Chandler, AZ Salary: $70,000–$90,000
Key Responsibilities
Lead the entire construction lifecycle, including RFQ/RFP process, contract negotiation, bid coordination, awarding projects, monitoring progress, and issue resolution.
Manage project financials from proposal to final receipt.
Generate budgetary funding requests and purchase orders.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, manage tasks and milestones, and track long‑lead purchases.
Analyze schedule changes and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Coordinate RFQ issuance, evaluate responses, and provide vendor selection recommendations.
Provide regular project status reports to management.
Construction & Technical Oversight
Manage construction from site visits through completed drawings, including design review and value engineering.
Interface with internal and external departments to secure permits, inspections, and certificates of occupancy.
Establish and enforce quality assurance methods, procedures, and technical training.
Evaluate new products, services, and vendors for system impact, cost, compatibility, reliability, and timing.
Lead new or large program deployments, onboard vendors, and guide junior engineers.
Serve as a subject‑matter expert in construction, modification, or equipment configurations.
Collaboration & Professionalism
Collaborate with partners to establish designs, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
Provide leadership and guidance for team growth and development.
Maintain professionalism: timely emails, meetings, clear communication, accurate records, and effective cross‑department collaboration.
Perform daily schedule and financial management; interface with vendors via calls and meetings.
Show effective communication across diverse groups.
Wireless Skills
Experience in project coordination or management with construction knowledge in telecommunications or wireless industry.
Expertise in Cellular Design and Construction (Macro and Small Cell), familiarity with Ericsson/Nokia equipment, DC plant design, and general construction principles.
Strong understanding of telecom networking, equipment designs, configuration procedures, and inventory management.
Knowledge of fiber installation and standards.
Proficiency with systems/tools such as Fuze, Ops Tracker, PeopleSoft, UneFi.
General Skills
Strong technical and project management skills.
Excellent PC and software application skills.
Highly organized; manage multiple priorities to successful completion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) from an accredited university. Preferred majors: Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
Preferred: Master’s degree (including MBA) or relevant technical certification (P.E., PMP).
