As the Project Inspector 1 here at Hamilton County, you will be out in the field supporting storm water and infrastructure projects that directly impact our community. You’ll collect data, assist with inspections, and help ensure construction meets county standards all while learning the tools, systems, and practices that drive successful public works.
Summary of Job Duties
Conduct field inspection of project construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications, plans, engineering principles, codes, regulations, and policies (e.g. trenches, excavations, sub grading, inlet construction sidewalks, berm construction, asphalt, concrete, etc.) utilise devices and instruments to accomplish tasks (e.g., levels, tapes, rules, etc).
Travel to job sites and collect data for storm sewer mapping.
Enter data into GIS field application using laptop.
Utilise surveying equipment and devices to accomplish tasks.
Maintain documents of inspection compliance activities (e.g. daily logs, project status, etc.).
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED with college-level coursework in Civil Engineering technology, construction management or a related field.
2 years experience in construction project inspection or administration.
The above may be substituted with the equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency.

40 Hour Work Week, generally between core hours of 7:30-5:30
