Job Description Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day‑to‑day functions of Grocery operations. Responsibilities
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines; ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are kept.
Report all safety risks or issues, including robbery, theft, or fraud; notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer‑Assisted Ordering (CAO).
Plan, organize and supervise the inventory process.
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies.
Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate action on all financial reports.
Monitor and control expenses for the department.
Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
Understand the store’s layout and locate products.
Have knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Train and develop associates on performance and participate in performance appraisal.
Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
Communicate company, department, and job‑specific information to associates.
Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback.
Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications Minimum
High School Diploma or GED.
Any management experience.
Desired
At least 1 year of grocery retail experience.
