Job Overview As a Clinic Assistant at Legacy Health, you will experience varied and engaging workdays, from patient registration to escorting patients and guiding them through the continuum of care. Responsibilities

Patient Interaction and Support

Greets members, patients, visitors, and others with complete and meaningful information.

Provides patient comfort and personal care activities as needed.

Scheduling and Appointment Management

Schedules patient appointments and verifies confirmations.

Creates new patient packets and provides basic clinic information.

Checks in walk‑in patients and files necessary charts.

Data Entry and Documentation

Enters data into paper and electronic medical records and creates reports.

Performs charge entry, billing, and uses systems such as E‑chart and AS400.

Accurately transcribes routine and complex reports and correspondence.

Office Operations

Prints, copies, faxes, and answers phones.

Organizes and delivers mail, orders supplies, and operates standard office equipment.

Coordination of Services

Schedules meetings within the department, with other medical staff, and vendors.

Facilitates communication among staff, providers, patients, and families.

Coordinates physician visits, procedures, and care plans.

Insurance Verification & Authorization

Provides education and support for the referral process.

Verifies patient eligibility and performs complex verification calls.

Fee Ticket Management

Monitors fee tickets and assists with accurate ICD9 and CPT4 code assignment.

Issue Resolution

Handles patient inquiries regarding referrals, insurance, and billing.

Collaborates with staff to resolve issues efficiently.

Prioritization and Professional Conduct

Organizes and prioritizes daily workload to maximize efficiency.

Maintains a professional appearance and exhibits punctuality, dependability, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience (minimum 3 years)

Patient registration

Medical records / health information

Clerical support

Insurance verification / authorization / referrals

Skills

Advanced computer skills with relevant software packages.

Ability to transcribe reports and correspondence using medical terminology.

Strong written and verbal communication, grammar, and editing skills.

Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures.

Excellent time‑management and organizational abilities.

Ability to handle varying job pressures, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality.

Keyboarding speed of approximately 60 words per minute.

Pay Range USD $21.88 - $31.27 per hour.
