Job Summary and Qualifications Work under the direction of the Director of Imaging Services for operations of assigned departments. Imaging supervisor’s responsibilities will include planning, organizing, controlling and directing aspects of clinical services. Supervisors will be able to perform a wide variety or radiology procedures and be familiar with basic CT, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Ultrasound, and Mammography procedures. Possess the skill and knowledge level required providing care to patients as delineated in their scope of services. Imaging supervisors must be able to demonstrate understanding of the cognitive, emotional and chronological maturation process for each age group of patients served including neonates, toddlers, young, middle or older adults, including the geriatric population.

What you will do in this role:

Plans, directs and supervises technical aspects of Imaging Department in regards to services and programs, and evaluates these programs regularly.

Ensures hospital Mission and Value statements are implemented throughout imaging department

Recommends actions to the Director of Imaging Services regarding equipment and essential functions within the department

Coordinates and is responsible for stock levels, patient supplies and utilization

Maintains radiology services in accordance with TDH, ACR, MQSA, and the Joint Commission

Is responsible for hospital safety and infection control polices and procedures

Prepares necessary reports and documents as requested by Director of Imaging

Provides input in the recruitment of necessary personnel during the selection process

Represents the department on appointed committees

Responsible for ensuring that assigned sections are adequately staffed for performance of duties

Delegates appropriate responsibilities to designated staff

Effectively implements policies and procedures of imaging department

Ensures all necessary radiation safety measures are implemented

Provides preventive maintenance of equipment and reports any malfunction of imaging equipment

Actively participates in the performance improvement activities

Continually asses employee and patient satisfaction of imaging services

Understands hospital safety, fire and disaster plans

Provides staff for hospital codes and alerts when initiated

Understands medical legal aspects involved with Medical Imaging

Insure patient rights are implemented

Has a full and complete understanding of the hospital mission and value statement

Provides Director on Imaging with area updates as appropriate

Actively participates in hospital wide events

Performs QC

Complies with corporate ethical policies in all areas of conduct.

Demonstrates a working knowledge of ALL modalities, ability to educate/explain exams being performed, and demonstrates above average skill in their modality specialty, performing all ordered exams, both invasive and non‑invasive

What qualifications you will need:

Must be a graduate for an accredited school of radiological technology

Individual must have knowledge of the Joint Commission policies, Texas Department of Health regulations and MQSA standards

CT Supervisor must have ARRT (CT) and Texas Medical Board General MRT

Four years of hospital based experience. Two years supervisory experience preferred
