About This Role The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a vital role in patient care by contributing to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working under the supervision of RN(s), the LPN provides direction and guidance in patient education and activities that align with their education and demonstrated competencies.
What You Bring To The Table
Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Experience:
Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
Current licensure as a Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurse within the state of employment; CPR certification required.
What You Will Do
Assess patients' physical, psychological, and social dimensions, contributing to individualized treatment planning and consulting with RNs and staff as needed.
Implement treatment programs directed by Health Care Practitioners, administer medications (including IV therapy if certified), and perform diagnostic tests according to established protocols.
Collaborate in controlled substance counts, adhere to safety procedures, and respond to codes or health emergencies within standard guidelines.
Assist in medical or minor surgical procedures, implement nutrition and therapeutic diet plans, and document nursing encounters using SOAP charting.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training sessions, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to policies and procedures.
