This position qualifies for PTO and health benefits.
Department Details Candidate will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours every two weeks, including every other weekend and holiday. Weekday shifts vary and shift time is 3:30‑8:30 pm or 4‑8:30 pm.
Job Summary
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the Food Service department by providing direction, making decisions, and answering questions for room service assistant staff.
Daily supervision according to quality standards.
Lead various duties involved with food service for patients.
Serves meals and snacks to patients in a professional manner.
Ensures rotation of floor supplies and maintains supply levels at Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR) levels.
Delivers appropriate room service menus to patients, instructing patients on meal ordering systems.
Assesses patients' ability to use the meal order system.
Communicates effectively, timely, and frequently with nursing staff, nutrition techs, dietitians, and call center staff.
Uses computerized diet sheets, accesses patient computer system, and retrieves completed meals from rooms, recording intake and calorie count information.
Maintains compliance with all Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines.
Obtains, transposes, and processes meal orders from patients and visitors over the telephone, verifying that meal orders meet diet order parameters.
Provides appropriate menu for diet.
Possesses excellent customer service skills, listening skills, and effectively communicates with co‑workers, supervisors, and nursing staff.
Establishes effective working relationships with co‑workers, supervisors, and nursing staff.
Qualifications
Minimum of one year experience required.
Depending on location, preceptor CDM (Certified Dietary Manager) course completed within two years of hire and/or current student in a diet program. CDM must be renewed every three years.
Depending on location, ServSafe may be required to obtain within a designated time frame, typically one year. ServSafe must be renewed every five years.
