Position Type: Part-Time • Job Location: 320 W. 18th St., Hopkinsville, Kentucky
Registered Nurses are accountable for providing safe and reliable patient care in accordance with JSMC policy, CMS standards, and Joint Commission standards. Responsibilities include:
Identifying patient care requirements by establishing rapport with patients and colleagues.
Providing a compassionate environment with emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
Promoting patient independence by setting care goals and teaching patients, families about condition, medications, and self-care.
Assuring quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring outcomes.
Resolving patient problems with multidisciplinary team strategies.
Maintaining a safe, clean working environment and complying with procedures.
Protecting patients and employees by following infection‑control policies, medication administration protocols, and controlled substance regulations.
Documenting patient care services and communicating actions and continuing needs.
Ensuring confidentiality and protecting operations with patient information privacy.
Operating equipment, completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining inventories.
Maintaining professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies.
Completing Nursing History and Assessment within 24 hours of admission.
Determining and delivering age‑appropriate care and delegating duties based on complexity.
Using critical thinking for prioritization and developing individualized plans of care.
Coordinating and collaborating with the healthcare team, incorporating discharge planning.
Documenting interventions accurately and legibly.
Administering medications observing the "6 rights" and maintaining barcode override rate
Including patients, caregivers, and disciplines in care and health teaching.
Supervising staff who provide direct patient care and practicing within scope of license.
As a Studer Group Partner, Registered Nurses must understand and communicate Studer practices, embody the Studer Philosophy and Principles, and adhere to the following: HCAHPS Patient Perception, Hourly Rounding with Intention, Bedside Shift Report, AIDET, Daily Huddles.
Required Skills

Ability to communicate in spoken and written English.

Required Experience and Licenses
Registered Nurses must hold a current Kentucky license or a compact state license. ACLS preferred.
Minimum work experience: One year in Nursing/Surgery (preferred).
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; graduate of an accredited Nursing school required.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; acceptable providers: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Military Training Network.
