Clinical Transporter - Clinical Transport Services Be among the first 25 applicants. This role provides safe and efficient transportation of patients and equipment within the hospital, modeling Health First I-CARE Values and working as a team member to achieve departmental goals.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the safe, efficient, and expedited movement of patients via stretchers, wheelchairs, beds, and cribs, and of patient‑related items such as belongings, paperwork, labs, and equipment.

Assist in safe transfers of patients (e.g., from bed to stretcher or wheelchair) and provide courteous, professional service, introducing yourself and explaining the mode of transport.

Accurately record transport details and report required information using Teletracking.

Appropriately utilize PPE and follow HIPAA, OSHA, and Health First policies and procedures.

Actively participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all stakeholders.

Safely operate both stretcher and wheelchair, reporting any equipment issues to the manager and removing broken or defective equipment immediately.

Apply Tele Pak Monitor on patients when required, ensuring patient rhythm is visible and verified with the monitor technician.

Consistently practice appropriate hand washing before and after each patient encounter.

Receive and confirm proper discharge paperwork and handoff communication with RN prior to leaving the origin; ensure proper handoff at the destination per policy.

Clean stretcher and wheelchair after each transport with hospital‑approved germicidal product.

Float to different hospital facilities per guidelines as a per‑diem associate.

Follow proper morgue processes to ensure a safe transfer of patients.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Work experience: Customer service preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current American Heart Association BLS healthcare provider card and renew it annually.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.

Ability to work effectively in a stressful, fast‑paced environment.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities with calm and effective response.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift, up to 12 hours during disaster response.

Must be able to lift up to forty (40) pounds unassisted.

Must be able to transport patients using stretcher, wheelchair, and other conveyances.

Must be capable of pushing or pulling weight up to 250 pounds for 75% of a 10‑hour shift.
