Leidos National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program is seeking a Telecommunications Engineering Technician to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Central Service Area – Engineering Services Group across the United States.
Responsibilities
Review FAA databases and provide input or draft Site Survey Reports (SSR).
Conduct site surveys to provide input and/or draft Site Survey Reports.
Coordinate schedules with SSC, ES, and Verizon personnel.
Draft Project Risk Plans (PRP) and Operational Risk Management Plans (ORMP).
Generate and/or update drawings, sketches, and artifacts.
Draft project plans for site preparation activities.
Coordinate scheduled outages with SSC, Air Traffic and Operations personnel.
Develop transition plans.
Resolve schedule conflicts.
Accompany unbadged personnel at facilities.
Work with LECs on schedules.
Develop briefings/information/reports on District status.
Work with other Districts/SSC on interstate service flows, transitions, cutovers, planning, etc.
Support District POC and SSCs with day‑to‑day work activities.
Review and provide comments on Verizon Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree (additional experience may be substituted/considered/accepted in lieu of degree).
Ability to travel up to 75%.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency with at least 3 continuous years of residence).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
Desired Qualifications
2+ years of experience working with telecommunications systems performing network troubleshooting.
Proficient working with AutoCAD or similar tools.
Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA standards, and National Airspace System equipment towers.
Knowledge of OSHA and general construction and electrical safety standards.
Knowledge of NAS facilities such as ASR, ATCT, VOR, ARSR, RCAG.
Pay Range Pay Range: $59,150.00 – $106,925.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
