Responsibilities

Develop, decompose, trace, verify, and validate system and subsystem requirements for high‑impact national security programs.

Apply systems engineering principles across the full system development lifecycle, from concept definition through design, integration, verification, validation, and operations.

Translate customer, mission, and stakeholder needs into clear, traceable technical requirements and system architectures.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (software, hardware, manufacturing, test, quality, operations) to ensure system designs meet technical, cost, schedule, and risk objectives.

Support development and maintenance of system architectures, interface definitions, and technical baselines.

Perform and document system trade studies, analyses, and technical evaluations to support design decisions.

Ensure alignment between requirements, design implementation, verification methods, and delivered products.

Identify, assess, and help mitigate technical risks, issues, and dependencies throughout program execution.

Participate in and support technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.).

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to engineering teams, program leadership, and customers.

Maintain accurate and compliant technical documentation and configuration‑controlled artifacts.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field.

Experience in requirements development, decomposition, management, and traceability.

Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements definition, design, integration, verification, and validation.

Experience with requirements tools such as DOORS, DOORS Next, or equivalent.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Desired Skills

Experience creating verification plans, test matrices, and compliance documentation.

Familiarity with interface definition, CONOPS development, and architecture alignment.

Experience analyzing requirements for completeness, clarity, feasibility, and risk.

Understanding of space or defense system requirements—hardware, software, or mission systems.

Experience supporting technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).

Strong communication, organizational, and data‑management skills.

Important Notes Candidates may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary range varies by state. Example ranges: $89,300 – $157,550 (California, Massachusetts, New York—excluding major metros, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC); $102,800 – $178,135 (major metropolitan areas). For other states, the salary range is adjusted accordingly. Position is incentive‑plan eligible.
