Responsibilities

Install & commission new systems within the schedule and budget provided by the project team.

Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs of equipment; be available for customer care at short notice.

Perform regular preventive maintenance on equipment with the coordination of clients.

Provide advisory services during equipment installation, service, and repair visits by instructing third parties and performing quality reviews to ensure that quality standards are being met.

Read and interpret equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.

Read and interpret electrical and mechanical CAD drawings, P&ID’s, and flow schemes.

Accurately prepare and submit inspection reports, service reports, time sheets, and expense reports in a timely manner to Field Service Coordinator or Field Service Manager.

Adhere to JBT Marel dispatch and other employee policies.

Inspect assembled equipment to ensure proper installation.

Inspect all operating parts to ensure proper operation within expected tolerances.

Maintain inspection records of equipment; determine trends affecting equipment and assess how to make corrections.

Recommend equipment modifications to eliminate future performance problems and replacement part orders.

Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

Interact with internal and external project managers during field projects.

Consult with engineering team to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance.

Clearly and professionally interact with customer regarding status of commissioning daily.

May supervise/train customer employees and/or employees in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment to obtain optimum operating performance.

Ensure that time sheets are signed off by the customer and inform customer prior to working additional time that would be invoiced.

Take and respond to customer service, emergency, and breakdown calls during business hours (may take calls after hours on occasions).

Travel approximately 90% of the time, up to 6 weeks at a time.

Basic Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in a Field Service Technician capacity.

AS, AAS, or equivalent education/work experience.

Willing to travel up to 90%, domestically and internationally.

Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical prints, along with PLC ladder logic.

Use of precision measurement instruments.

Proactive mindset, self-starter, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working as a team.

Ability to work independently.

Excellent verbal and writing communication skills with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and web-based databases.

Experience installing multimillion-dollar capital equipment products.

Experience with ultra-high pressure or water jet cutting machines desired.

Previous work experience in a food processing facility desired.

Valid Driver’s License and valid passport.

Estimated Annual Salary $62,000 – $84,000 (general guideline; actual salary varies by location, qualifications, and prior experience).
