Project Accountant – CRANSTON

Position Summary The Project Accountant will support the Regional Finance Manager and collaborate with HFW partner firms on projects. The role involves accounts payable/receivable functions, invoicing cycles, financial analysis, and audit assistance. You will work directly with Project Managers and finance teams to ensure accurate, timely project financial data, including processing invoices, monitoring cash flow, and preparing periodic reports.

Essential Responsibilities
Provide technical support to the Regional Finance Manager.
Assist HFW Member Firms with AR/AP functions.
Work directly with Member Firm Project Managers and Finance Teams during monthly invoicing cycles.
Issue monthly invoices to HFW partner firms in a timely manner.
Process AP vendor invoices in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Generate weekly reports detailing accounts payable status.
Assist with in-depth project analysis and prepare periodic reports to guide Project Managers/Directors.
Analyze unbilled costs, WIP, A/R, and billings that exceed earnings to improve project cash flows, working capital, and margin.
May engage in internal/external audits.
Develop strong relationships with HFW member firms' accounting teams through effective communication.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent; at least 2 years of related experience.
Extensive knowledge of project and cost accounting.
Understanding of GAAP and ability to adhere to accounting principles.
Highly proficient with professional services accounting software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to create reports, correspondence, and presentations.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and ERP database software.
Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and on‑site assistance.
