Product Actuarial Analyst II/III in the new actuarial pricing group at American Public Life Insurance (APL). This role reports directly to the Vice President, Product Actuarial Director and offers significant professional growth and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform product development and maintenance, including experience analysis, assumption research and developing future performance projections.
Prepare regulatory and compliance materials (e.g., rate justifications, actuarial exhibits) and support administrative systems and customer service with technical actuarial needs.
Continue professional development through Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams, working toward Associate (ASA) and potentially Fellow (FSA) designation.
Qualifications
Strong technical skills in Excel (including macros), SQL programming and pricing software.
In-depth knowledge of insurance products, actuarial pricing concepts, profitability maintenance and compliance/legal considerations.
Excellent mathematical aptitude, communication abilities and problem‑solving skills.
Proven initiative, ownership of projects and effective organizational and teamwork skills even under time constraints.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science or related technical field or area of study.
3 to 7 years’ experience in related field.
(Level II) Completion of at least three Society of Actuaries exams and VEE requirements.
(Level III) Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
