The Analyst, working for the Global Trade Finance Latam team at BBVA New York, will support the Senior GTF product specialists with the following:

Responsibilities

Deal execution: 50%

Marketing, origination, structuring and execution of Trade Finance solutions to BBVA’s Global Corporate Clients in Latam, which include but are not limited to:

Letters of Credit (issuance, confirmation, advising of Letters of Credit, Stand-By LCs, Documentary Collections, etc.)

Receivables/Payables Finance: Supply Chain Finance / Confirming, Receivable Purchase Programs / Factoring / Vendor Factoring, Forfaiting / Structured Forfaiting (discount without recourse of instruments of payment such as LCs, receivables, bills of exchange, promissory notes, etc.)

Credit Enhanced Short-Term Facilities: Private Insurance, Multilaterals

Pre-export Finance

Structured Trade Finance products such as BB Facilities, Prepayments, Inventory Finance.

Sustainable Trade Finance and Working Capital solutions within the Global Transaction Banking ESG Framework (GTB Sustainability Framework)

Coordination with partners across the organization to deliver seamless Trade Finance solutions to clients, including but not limited to the following: Global Corporate Clients, Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Operations and Funding Desk.

Negotiating credit agreements with corporate clients, multilaterals, other financial institutions and legal advisors

Various internal reporting duties, such as pipeline and P&L management, among others

Assist in establishing and managing client relationships with Latin America

Assist in evaluating business opportunities, putting together tailor‑made structures and preparing internal proposals under the GTF application model

Coordinate closing procedures with treasury and operations team (HUB), including fixing funding rates, completing documentation and compliance requirements

Participate in the team’s marketing activities by preparing marketing material, including presentations, for our clients as well as statistics for internal purposes

Maintain a strict portfolio management control; interact with business development units for reporting purposes

Maintain direct contact with our affiliated banks for support of funding needs

Assist in product development and creation of alternative structures

Conduct independent research on corporate and industry sectors

Assist with and manage internal reports, such as pipeline and P&L

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field

0‑1 year work experience in Banking or related field with exposure to cross‑border markets and products

Intermediate knowledge in international banking, world economy and financial systems

Fluent in English and Spanish and ideally Portuguese (both oral and written)

Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet search engines; Reuters and Bloomberg a plus

Performance Skills:

Self‑starter with the ability to work remotely

Ability to multitask and work under pressure

Good analytical and communication skills

Creative thinking with attention to detail

Team player

With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $90,000 to $100,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
