Industrial Power Solutions is hiring a
VDC Engineer – Level 3
to produce
constructible electrical shop drawings
that our field teams can install from, and that can move cleanly through
A/E review and approval . This is
construction-focused electrical VDC
(not design engineering, not architectural BIM, not clash-only coordination).

Virtual Design & Construction (VDC)
Reports to:
VDC Lead / Project Manager
Experience level:
5–7 years (or equivalent)
Leveling note:
Level 3 is the maximum entry level for external hires
What you’ll do You’ll own assigned drawing packages with minimal supervision and support PMs and field leadership through the full workflow from development to approval.
Core production (shop drawings):
Produce electrical shop drawings for underground conduit layouts, aboveground conduit routing, ductbank plans/sections, equipment layouts, and required sections/elevations/details
Translate sealed construction documents into clear, accurate, constructible drawings for field installation
Revit + AutoCAD execution:
Model conduit systems and equipment in Revit to validate routing, support coordination, and extract information for production
Use AutoCAD for details and hybrid/legacy workflows as needed
Use the model as a tool—deliver
clean 2D drawings and schedules
Schedules + documentation:
Develop and maintain equipment and conduit schedules and keep alignment with one-lines and P&IDs
Submittals, approval, and revisions:
Build submittal packages and support A/E review cycles, including tracking comments and incorporating approved-as-noted revisions
Maintain Approved-for-Construction (AFC) records
RFI + field support:
Identify conflicts/unclear info, compile clarification items with exhibits, and incorporate approved responses
Answer field questions, clarify install intent, and capture approved field changes for updated documentation
Quality control:
Self-check work before submission and maintain consistency with contract documents and company standards
Required skills
5–7 years in VDC, drafting, or construction documentation
Proficiency with
Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Word, and PDF markup tools
Strong understanding of conduit routing and equipment layout
Able to work independently, manage assigned scopes, and communicate clearly
Preferred qualifications
Industrial electrical or infrastructure project experience
Underground conduit and ductbank coordination experience
Familiarity with submittal and approval workflows and field sequencing
What success looks like
Produces reliable, low-revision shop drawing packages
Flags coordination issues early and supports PMs and field teams effectively
Maintains high documentation quality with minimal oversight
