Job Overview This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy.
Gift Services is responsible for depositing, recording, receipting, and acknowledging gifts of various types. The Customer Service Liaison/Revenue Specialist is responsible for a select group of schools and units on campus and will serve as the liaison to those units for all revenue‑related tasks.
Responsibilities include
understanding the business needs of each school ,
recognizing top donors and apprising development officers of issues related to these donors , and
working with all school development staff to handle revenue transactions and assist with marketing/communications, events and stewardship . The role will also
respond to inbound inquiries
from donors and school/unit colleagues,
adjust application details for revenue transactions , and maintain thorough knowledge of CASE reporting standards and IRS rules.
Responsibilities
Serves as liaison to designated schools and units for all revenue‑related tasks.
Handles revenue transactions, including cash, checks, gifts‑in‑kind, event registrations, and credit card transactions.
Monitors the Gift Services phone line and email box, responding to donor inquiries or forwarding to appropriate specialists.
Adjusts application details for revenue transactions, such as adding opportunities, source codes, or revenue categories.
Ensures revenue is processed, recorded, and receipted in compliance with CASE and IRS regulations.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be earned from accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Highly detailed, dependable, and customer‑focused.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to handle inquiries accurately, professionally, and with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Working knowledge of the Davie (Blackbaud CRM) system.
Proven record of excellent customer service, time management, willingness to learn, and team collaboration.
Salary and Benefits Hiring Range: $35,589 - $49,811. Full‑time permanent position. Comprehensive benefits package, paid leave, and health, life, and retirement plans.
Location and Hours Work location: Chapel Hill, NC. Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
