Job Description Position Title Area Process Manager - Power and Chemical
Pay Rate $130,000 – $160,000
Category/Shift Salaried Full-Time
Physical Location 100 Jensen Rd., Prattville AL 36067
The Power & Chemical area is comprised of two Lime Kilns, three sets of black liquor Evaporators, influent and effluent treatment systems, two black liquor Recovery Boilers, two bark & natural gas Power Boilers, and two hydrogen cooled turbine generators. This area is divided between four area managers who cover various portions of the process. Area manager’s with backgrounds in any of the above processes are welcome to apply. Manager duties include the following.
Responsible for day-to-day manufacturing needs in a manner that delivers target results in safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost.
Lead area to injury‑free work environment through leadership by example and modelling safe behaviours.
Lead safety processes including safety work systems, safety observations, and operator safety training.
Maintain high standards; communicate standards clearly and uphold through accountability.
Lead and sustain continual improvement with a Manufacturing Excellence culture.
Lead ongoing improvement efforts in IEPM, MWS, RCFA, Basic Care, and Preventative Maintenance to meet or exceed world‑class standards. Develop, maintain, and use reliable methods for all processes and improvements.
Assist prioritisation of daily and scheduled maintenance work along with coordination of manpower scheduling.
Plan and execute annual outages.
Ensure a quality product is produced for internal customers.
Foster team environment to support an engaged workforce.
Understand and assist in meeting area costs versus budget.
The Skills You Will Bring
Four (4) years post‑college experience with a minimum of two (2) years operation experience in pulp & paper required.
Technical degree in engineering and supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience in Utilities, lime kilns, or evaporators preferred.
