What You’ll Do As a Senior Analyst on the BCG Vantage ‘Topic Activation’ path within the Consumer Practice, you will collaborate with global topic leads and case teams, providing industry expertise, analysis and advisory across CPG segments such as packaged food, beverages, snacking, pet care and more. You will contribute to proposals, client workshops, marketing materials and develop intellectual property & assets. You will onboard and train junior colleagues.

Specific Responsibilities

Translate consumer panel and POS data into actionable insights to support growth and strategy engagements.

Collaborate with case teams to frame analyses, define questions and pressure‑test findings.

Co‑develop scalable CPG offerings blending POS and panel data, incorporating AI tools for insight generation.

Monitor trends across CPG categories to surface emerging opportunities.

Conduct fast‑turn analyses for time‑sensitive case work, delivering client‑ready outputs with minimal supervision.

Build and maintain insight templates, dashboards and category snapshots to enhance internal capabilities.

What You’re Good At

Formulating research/analytics approaches for consumer packaged goods using panel/POS datasets.

Communicating insights confidently to case teams and stakeholders.

Navigating complexity and ambiguity with autonomy and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Working collaboratively and effectively in a virtual, agile environment.

Proposing innovative ideas with curiosity and creativity.

What You’ll Bring

3–5+ years in CPG industry, market research, consulting or analytics focused on consumer packaged goods.

Deep knowledge of consumer panel and POS datasets (e.g., NielsenIQ, IRI, Circana, Numerator, SPINS).

Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with data visualisation tools (Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI) and AI‑powered tools is a plus.

Proven ability to work with large datasets, synthesize findings and develop actionable insights.

Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Highly organised, detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple workstreams quickly.

Bachelor’s Degree required (advanced degree preferred).

Additional Info BCG Vantage is embedded across 20 Practices, delivering deep insight and expertise. It offers three career paths that enable value to clients, case teams and practice teams.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary range (Chicago): $100,500 – $108,500. Total compensation includes a discretionary performance bonus up to 16%, retirement contribution starting at 5% (moving to 10% after 2 years) and a market‑leading benefits package.
