Energy Service Operations & Data Analyst
Qcells North America is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Energy Services Operations Specialist to support the operational aspects of our residential Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) programs. This entry-level role is based in Irvine, San Francisco or Santa Clara, CA.
Base pay range:
$80,000.00/yr – $100,000.00/yr
Responsibilities SREC Program Operations
Review and submit SREC application drafts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Validate production reporting data for consistency and correctness.
Maintain and update the SREC operations tracker/dataset.
Process and track SREC incentive payments to ensure timely disbursements.
VPP Program Operations
Prepare and submit enrollment documentation to program providers.
Monitor event performance and compile issue summaries for internal review.
Maintain and update the VPP operations tracker/dataset.
Coordinate with Product Management and Product Development teams to address issues related to enrollment, dispatch, and settlements.
Process and track VPP incentive payments and installer invoices.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Collaborate with outsourcing agents, partner companies and various teams to meet registration requirements.
Work closely with various teams to track and resolve PV/ESS issues.
Provide Tier 1 customer support by addressing basic inquiries and requests from homeowners and installation partners.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, applied sciences, energy/environmental management or a related field.
Experience: 1–3 years of data analytics, operations, project coordination, or related roles within the renewable‑energy sector.
Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data‑management tools; experience with data analysis, management, coding, and visualizations using code‑based tools, preferably Python.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years of experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab.
Experience with energy data (renewable energy, energy efficiency, demand response).
Basic understanding of PV/ESS systems and their operational requirements.
Experience writing queries in SQL and using SQL‑based dashboard tools.
