This opportunity is for a Hot Plant Operator with a work location in Jackson, MS. The position is responsible for operating a hot plant to maintain production goals and performing repair and maintenance as needed.

Essential Job Accountabilities

Operating a hot plant efficiently to maintain production goals.

Placing raw aggregate and liquid asphalt materials through the mixing drum to be stored in silos until ready for load‑out on trucks for delivery to job sites.

Performing general maintenance, repair, and service to the hot plant as required.

Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.

Operating equipment including front‑end loader, skip loader, skid steer, and other equipment as needed.

Communicating current job information with contractors and drivers.

Maintaining plant files and records.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of hot mix asphalt business and operations.

Ability to troubleshoot plant operational issues.

Ability to communicate clearly.

Ability to obtain an MSHA Part 46 Certificate (5000‑23) as required for the job.

Physical Requirements

Stoop, bend, and crouch.

Use hands, arms, and legs fully.

Additional Requirements and Skills

Comply with, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.

Demonstrate ability to learn the company’s timekeeping and reporting systems.

Adhere to the company’s Code of Conduct daily.

Understand and comply with MSHA rules and regulations.

React and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced plant environment.

Bilingual communication in English and Spanish is a plus.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

5+ years of experience operating a hot plant (preferred).

Experience with Astec controls.
