Job Overview This position is responsible for the Fleet Operations and Maintenance and reports to the Branch Manager. Monday – Friday $25.00 – $27.00 depending on experience. We also offer $0.50/hour for each current/valid certificate held.
Key Responsibilities
Service and repair of all fleet vehicles.
Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, oil change, replace belts, hoses, inspect brakes, repack bearings, check tires) on all size vehicles; must perform per month.
Diagnose and effectively repair mechanical, engine and electrical irregularities/malfunctions on all size vehicles.
Drive automatic and standard shift vehicles for testing, transfer, and pick‑up/delivery of parts.
Perform inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.
Primary Qualifications
5+ years of experience (preferably in dealership; foreign/domestic vehicle experience a plus).
Valid driver's license (Class C or better) and ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles from 2,000 to 50,000 lbs.
Meet qualifications outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Meet DOT standards to achieve brake and annual inspection certifications; minimum 1 year experience or certificate from an approved training program.
Individual Skills & Competencies
Ability to read and understand technical service manuals, repair orders, labels, and gauges (in English).
Ability to write work orders and purchase orders.
Ability to communicate verbally (in English) and use telephone for ordering parts and supplies.
Ability to obtain Medical Examiner certificate via US Department of Transportation approved medical examiners.
Valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms requirements in the state of application.
Working Conditions
Work performed in a semi‑enclosed structure and outdoors.
Environment involves chemical handling, gasoline/diesel fumes, and intermittent high noise exposure.
Exposed to wet and dry conditions in extreme heat and/or cold.
Full‑time schedule: average 40 hours per week, 5 days per week.
