Northpoint Recovery is a leading behavioral healthcare provider offering evidence-based treatment for adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are hiring an Admissions Nurse (RN or LPN) to coordinate and approve medical screenings and support inpatient admissions.

Title: Admissions Nurse (RN or LPN) Reports to: Corporate Director of Admissions

Location: On-site role that can be located at our Corporate Office (Meridian, ID), Northpoint Colorado (Loveland, CO), or Northpoint Nebraska (Omaha, NE)

Schedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday 8am-4:30pm

Compensation: $25-40/hour

Position Summary As a key member of the healthcare team, the Admissions Nurse is responsible for coordinating and approving medical screenings conducted by the admissions team. This licensed nursing professional will work closely with admissions staff, medical facilities, and the nursing team to ensure that patient screenings are completed accurately and timely. The Admissions Nurse plays an essential role in coordinating inpatient admissions and escalating any potential medical risks appropriately. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Coordinate with medical facilities to obtain and review necessary medical records to facilitate the admission process

Work closely with the admissions team to approve medical screenings and ensure all necessary documentation is completed

Collaborate with nursing staff and facility personnel to schedule and coordinate patient admissions effectively

Escalate medical screenings to appropriate medical staff when potential medical risks or issues are identified

Act as a liaison between the admissions team, patients, and healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and safe admission processes

Provide ongoing communication with relevant teams regarding patient status, medical screening results, and admission logistics

Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to patient admissions and medical care

Maintain accurate documentation of medical screenings and communications related to patient admissions

Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times

Qualifications/Requirements

Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a nurse in the state where services are rendered

Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements throughout the duration of employment

Ability to analyze the screening assessment data to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for placement in the appropriate level of care

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills for effective assessment and decision-making

Strong understanding of medical screening processes and patient admission protocols

Minimum of three years of experience (5 years suggested) as a nurse, with experience in admissions or similar role preferred

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and healthcare professionals in high-pressure situations

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Proficiency with electronic medical records systems

Ability to identify and elevate potential medical risks or complications

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

Excellent organizational abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and act decisively

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and EMR systems

Experience in medical admissions or patient intake coordination is a plus
