Interventional Radiology Technologist PRN Wake Radiology UNC REX Healthcare is currently seeking a PRN Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at our Raleigh imaging center. The ideal candidate will perform interventional procedures while ensuring patient safety, supporting radiologists and referring physicians, and delivering high-quality care in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and self, following all safety protocols and infection control procedures.

Work closely with interventional radiology nurses and team members to provide cohesive patient care.

Assist with patient history and physical assessments for invasive procedures.

Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.

Prepare patients for procedures by positioning and utilizing appropriate equipment.

Operate imaging equipment to acquire contrast-enhanced images during diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Monitor patients for safety and comfort throughout procedures, taking corrective action as needed.

Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures.

Accurately document procedures according to department protocols and regulatory requirements.

Prepare and administer contrast agents under the direction of the radiologist.

Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment; coordinate service or repairs as needed.

Set up sterile trays and maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.

Support daily workflow and departmental needs by preparing paperwork and assisting with general tasks.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and ongoing education.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree or two-year program in Radiologic Technology.

Current ARRT certification.

2–5 years of experience in Vascular and Interventional Radiology preferred.

Current CPR certification and completion of OSHA training.

Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Proficiency with major radiology equipment and related software systems.
