Production Technician is a mid-level role within the aseptic filling group of the Manufacturing department. This position requires prior experience and training in pharmaceutical manufacturing within a strictly controlled GMP environment. Employees will progress through multiple job functions, demonstrating increasing skill levels and leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain certification for entry into GMP cleanroom space to perform sanitization, stock/replenish supplies, equipment setup, and aseptic filling operations.
Execute aseptic fill processes using batch records and SOPs.
Verify calibration of equipment and ensure sanitization of supplies to support production.
Develop increasing competency in manufacturing procedures, including aseptic and cleanroom operations, component preparation, filling, and capping.
Learn and operate equipment necessary for work in the Fill suite.
Perform tasks independently with minimal supervisor direction.
Train new team members and provide floor leadership in the absence of a supervisor or senior technicians.
Understand and coordinate tasks to meet the manufacturing schedule.
Transport and/or dispose of hazardous chemicals safely.
Notify supervisor immediately if affected by an infectious disease or open lesions, as entry into manufacturing areas is prohibited under these conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
3–5 years of relevant aseptic filling experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Working knowledge of GMP compliance regulations.
Experience in aseptic filling processes, equipment cleaning, preparation, and assembly.
Ability to comprehend and follow detailed procedural instructions (written and verbal).
Adequate arithmetic skills to perform or verify calculations required in product documentation.
Fluent English (written and verbal) skills for reading, comprehension, and communication of GMP documentation and SOPs.
Physical Ability to
Regularly use hands and arms.
Frequently stand; occasionally sit, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
Lift/move up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs frequently.
Maintain close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in stopper preparation, capping, and packaging.
Certifications
GMP cleanroom certification (to be obtained during employment).
Additional pharmaceutical manufacturing or safety certifications are a plus.
