Job Overview Performs routine and specific specialized diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail under direction of a radiologist. Assists physicians with interventional ultrasound‑guided procedures.
Job Duties
Performs diagnostic sonographic imaging procedures.
Performs quality control and quality assessment.
Assists physicians with interventional procedures.
Ensures the day to day operations run smoothly and issues are reported promptly.
Participates in staff in‑service program.
Help schedules patients.
Keeps area supplied and clean.
Assists with orientation of new staff and students.
Assists clerical area when needed.
Perform HIS/RIS/PACS functions.
Maintains equipment to decrease downtime and overtime expense.
Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
Other job duties as needed, including diagnostic images if sonographer has ARRT license
Licenses and Certifications
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Required
BLS CPR certification for healthcare providers Required
License renewal must occur within two weeks of expiration date Required
Employee must be RVT and/or RVS and RDMS registry eligible upon hire. Employee will be required to obtain RVT and/or RVS and RDMS within first 18 months.
Revocation or inability to maintain licensure and/or registration may result in termination
