Job Description The Materials Specialist 3 / Materials Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating all plant warehouse and materials management functions at Plant McDonough. This role includes direct supervision of warehouse personnel, maintaining physical control and accuracy of inventory, managing procurement activities, and ensuring compliance with corporate, SOX, safety, and environmental requirements. The role serves as the primary point of contact between plant personnel, the Materials Department, and Supply Chain Management, ensuring timely availability of materials to support O&M and plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate plant warehouse operations and staff
Maintain physical control and accuracy of warehouse inventories
Procure materials, parts, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner
Prepare material requisitions and maintain procurement documentation
Conduct cycle counts, research variances, and implement corrective actions
Analyze reorder reports and optimize stocking levels
Coordinate vendor alliances, stocking, and restocking programs
Ensure SOX, safety, and corporate compliance requirements are met
Support inventory reporting, auditing, and reconciliation activities
Track repairable and rotating asset inventory
Support safety initiatives and enforce proper materials handling procedures
Be available for nights, weekends, and emergency callouts as needed
