Hospice Of South Texas
Weekend RN
Hospice Of South Texas is seeking a Weekend RN to administer skilled nursing care for terminally ill patients of all ages in their homes, triage after‑hours calls, and evaluate patient eligibility for Hospice services.
Schedule & Pay Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8 AM–8 PM.
Job Responsibilities
Assess patient appropriateness for Hospice services.
Carry out the admissions process for terminally ill patients.
Respond to patient care visits, assessing and treating as needed.
Triage incoming patient calls after business hours.
Conduct routine home‑care visits at patients’ residences.
Conduct pronouncement visits at the time of patient death.
Complete chart audits as requested.
Provide RN assistance at the Hospice of South Texas Inpatient Center, as needed.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate, or baccalaureate school of nursing.
Current state license as a Registered Nurse and a valid driver’s license.
At least two years of RN experience in a clinical setting (hospice or home health preferred).
Proficient nursing skills and good interpersonal communication.
Specialized skills in palliation and end‑of‑life care preferred.
Reliable transportation and current auto liability insurance.
Work Environment Provide care in patients’ homes under varied conditions. Possible exposure to blood and bodily fluids. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel locally. Must handle prolonged standing/walking, lift up to 50 lbs, and manage stressful situations.
