Responsibilities
Assess the patient’s physical, nutritional, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, spiritual, educational and rehabilitative needs and problems.
Assist in interventional cases, including administering sedation analgesia.
Assist in implementing the medical and nursing plan of care by:
Taking vital signs accurately and documenting appropriately.
Providing comfort and hygiene measures in a timely manner.
Providing nutritional requirements in a timely manner and accurately recording intake and output.
Keeping the patient’s immediate environment clean and safe.
Communicating any patient’s report of pain.
Keeping the staff RN or patient physician informed of the patient’s condition, response to care, and any concerns voiced.
Meeting all physical needs of patients in a timely manner.
Assisting in moving in and out of bed.
Assisting in positioning and repositioning while in bed to prevent skin injuries.
Adhering to principles of safe body mechanics.
Starting I.V.s.
Performing pain assessment.
Maintaining daily QC on equipment.
Completing daily temperature logs, etc.
Maintaining complete and accurate patient records.
Creating patient charts.
Scheduling various procedures.
Ordering and stocking supplies.
Attending all required educational programs/in‑services.
Qualifications
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
Registered Nurse Diploma.
(GN) Graduate Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse.
Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR for Healthcare Providers, must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
