LHH is seeking an Assistant Controller on behalf of a rapidly expanding global organization operating across multiple project‑driven business lines. Our client delivers specialized services in areas such as design, construction, and engineered manufacturing solutions for complex, mission‑critical infrastructure. This position pays 130K-140K+Bonus and is an opportunity to work for a growing and progressive company. Job Responsibilities
Lead and supervise accounting and financial reporting activities, including daily accounting operations, weekly payment cycles, month‑end, and year‑end close
Oversee accounting and administrative processes for designated business units
Prepare and analyze financial reports that summarize and forecast business performance, including project progress updates, overhead reports, cash flow forecasts, balance sheets, and income statements
Perform variance analysis between projected and actual project results on a monthly basis
Review and validate project accounting reports, ensuring accurate cost tracking, revenue recognition, and expense classifications
Participate in budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with operations leadership
Support project teams with estimates, owner billings, and project‑level cost report setup and maintenance
Review weekly A/P payment files, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies related to charges, projects, or potential duplications
Oversee preparation of rolling 13‑week cash forecasts for assigned entities and assist with other forecasts as needed
Partner with other accounting leaders to ensure consistency in A/P processes and coordination with project accounting
Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Lead, mentor, and develop members of the finance and accounting team
Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Job Requirements
Minimum of five years of financial management experience in a related industry, with at least five years at an Assistant Controller level or higher in a similarly scaled enterprise
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred but not required
Construction industry experience required
Experience in public accounting and/or CPA certification preferred
Government contracting or manufacturing experience a plus
International and multi‑currency experience beneficial
Major ERP experience required (Deltek Costpoint, SAP Concur a plus)
Proficiency with SQL and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Cognos, Hyperion) a plus
Experience managing contract, vendor, subcontractor, timekeeping, and expense reporting systems in a project-based environment
Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a big‑picture perspective
Strong written and verbal communication skills
