Responsibilities
Following up on outstanding insurance claims.
Appealing denials and working with insurance companies to get claims paid.
Working with accounts receivable to collect unpaid balances.
Coordinating with finance to improve benefit verification accuracy and efficiency.
Receiving and posting payments to patient accounts daily.
Performing necessary follow‑up to ensure timely resolution of appeals, re‑billing, and obtaining updated insurance information.
Applying third‑party payer guidelines in reviewing denied claims.
Correcting insurance information on rejected claims and resubmitting for processing.
Qualifications
Familiarity with and ability to use various electronic claims software.
Experience in departmental collections including follow‑up on outstanding accounts.
Proficiency in following up on all outstanding accounts via telephone or portal.
Willingness to help others.
