We are expanding our footprint in the Detroit Metro Area and are seeking passionate leaders to join our team as a Department Manager leading our Customer Service/Front End and General Merchandise teams for our West Detroit Market. What You'll Be Doing
Engage with team members in span of care to ensure they are receiving appropriate onboarding, training, development, coaching, and feedback.
Identify talent and engage in career discussions to support overall store staffing and ensure a diversified talent pipeline strategy for team members and leadership roles.
Involve in candid discussions with team members to uphold Meijer standards and enable growth within the organization.
Accountable for area operations and financial results; oversee execution of corporate plans to maximize sales, productivity, and manage budget line items in the P&L.
Drive safety and compliance throughout the store, manage overall condition, and follow all compliance procedures.
Ensure Team Leaders and Leads provide guidance, assign daily work assignments, and meet training needs.

What You Bring With You (Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
Progressive leadership experience preferred.
Passion to provide industry‑leading service.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members in a clear and precise manner.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to make informed decisions.
Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
Proactive, creative thinking applied to the business.
Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs and gain market share.
Strong business acumen.
Innovative attitude to help Meijer set industry standards.
