Overview
Position Summary
This role is responsible for overseeing and managing technical IT projects under the direction of the ITS Project Management Office. The Project Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate activities surrounding department or organizational projects and initiatives to ensure goals and objectives are met within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Responsibilities
Partner with customers, IT stakeholders, vendors, and other internal/external project stakeholders to define project scope, develop project plans, and deliver customer value via execution of those plans.
Coordinate with ITS Resource Managers to identify and assign appropriate staff to projects to ensure timely completion of project work.
Schedule and facilitate project status meetings, working sessions, and required communications to ensure the project is progressing according to plan and stakeholders are well‑informed.
Follow IT PMO standards, including lifecycle, standard templates, and use of the enterprise PPM tool.
Maintain project status information in the enterprise PPM tool and communicate status to appropriate stakeholders on a regular basis.
Identify, document, and facilitate resolution of project issues and risks, escalating to leadership in a timely manner.
Create and maintain project schedules to reflect progress versus the original plan accurately.
Ensure project documentation is auditable and participate in IT governance activities/meetings as requested.
Contribute to continuous improvement activities and mentor junior project managers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; preference for degree in project management, IT, engineering, or business.
PMP certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
7–10 years of experience in project management, including software/system project experience and medium‑to‑large scale projects.
Experience with enterprise PPM tools (MS Project, Planview, ServiceNow PPM, Clarity, Jira, etc.) preferred.
Healthcare project management experience (e.g., hospital, insurance, pharmacy) preferred.
Experience managing multiple vendors and working in a highly matrixed environment preferred.
Prior supervisory experience a plus.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
Compensation $83,000.00 – $120,500.00 (est. based on minimum qualifications). Total compensation includes medical, dental, vision, pharmacy benefits, discretionary bonuses, merit increases, 403(b) savings match, paid time off, career advancement opportunities and resources to support employee well‑being.
