Systems and Security Administrator

– Ryan Fireprotection, Inc.

Location: Noblesville, IN and Indianapolis, IN (in‑person). Salary range: $98,413.00 – $120,282.00.

Ryan Fireprotection is seeking a proactive, solutions‑driven Systems and Security Administrator to work closely with the Director of IT. The role involves administering, securing, and enhancing the technology that powers our business. Candidates should enjoy new challenges, be naturally curious, and take initiative to independently research and solve technical problems.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Administration

Administer and maintain on‑premises Windows server environments (physical and virtual), including Active Directory and Group Policy.

Manage Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams), Azure/Entra ID and other core SaaS platforms.

Maintain system availability, performance, backups, and disaster‑recovery processes.

Monitor and maintain system backups, disaster‑recovery plans, and data integrity policies.

Automate IT tasks using PowerShell.

Security Administration

Design, implement, and manage security controls across endpoints, servers, and cloud platforms.

Administer endpoint protection, email security, MFA, conditional access, and device compliance.

Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and coordinate response and remediation.

Maintain security documentation, policies, standards, and procedures.

Conduct regular access reviews, vulnerability remediation, and security audits.

Network Administration

Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network performance (LAN, VLAN, WAN, VPN, Wi‑Fi).

Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, and routers.

Cloud & SaaS Management

Manage configuration, licensing, security, and optimization of SaaS applications.

Integrate SaaS platforms with identity and security tooling.

Evaluate new SaaS solutions for security, compliance, and operational fit.

Assist business units to enable secure adoption of technology.

Strategic & Project Work

Participate in infrastructure and security roadmap planning.

Lead or contribute to system upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects.

Recommend improvements to reliability, scalability, and security posture.

Assist with budgeting, vendor management, and contract evaluations.

IT Documentation & Training

Maintain accurate IT documentation, including help guides and standard operating procedures.

Develop and deliver IT training sessions on best practices, security awareness, and new technologies.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role.

Strong expertise in Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.

Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs).

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, Proxmox).

Knowledge of security best practices, including endpoint protection, patch management, and compliance standards.

Excellent communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Analytical mindset for quick problem resolution.

Self‑motivated, eager to learn, and proactive in finding solutions.

Relevant college or technical degree (or equivalent experience) required.

Willingness to travel to other office locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in construction, manufacturing, or similarly distributed environments.

Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).

Experience with MDR and SIEM management tools.

Knowledge of backup, disaster‑recovery, and business continuity planning (e.g., Veeam).

Professional certifications (Microsoft, Azure, Security+, CISSP, or similar).
