This Position Reports To Service Manager
Division Overview ABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings. The Division’s technical teams collaborate closely with industry partners to deliver advanced solutions that support rapid growth, energy transition, sustainability objectives, and supply the world’s largest data center companies with advanced energy‑efficient UPS solutions. Its ABB Ability™ Energy Manager gives a scalable, easy‑to‑use platform that helps organizations save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
Key Responsibilities
Specialize in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical power systems including UPS, PDU, STS and related equipment.
Ensure continuous, reliable operation of mission‑critical infrastructure for data centers, hospitals, telecommunications facilities and other environments where power must be uninterrupted.
Perform service tasks, identify technical problems, and conduct analysis through remote or on‑site activities across categories such as installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering, advanced services, upgrades, replacements and extensions.
Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing work according to orders and expectations, building relationships and identifying new sales opportunities.
Coordinate, prepare and ensure all materials, parts and equipment are available and meet quality standards for service activities.
Identify potential equipment failures proactively, request corrective actions, troubleshoot failures and recommend prevention measures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 1+ years’ experience in critical power equipment servicing.
Or Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology with 3+ years’ experience, or high‑school diploma/GED with 5+ years of equivalent experience.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
Moderate project‑management skills using MS Project or Excel.
Advanced ability to write test plans and detailed test‑report documentation.
Superior organization and time‑management for administrative duties.
Collaborative team player with a sense of urgency and ownership until completion.
Valid U.S. driver’s license.
Current U.S. work authorization.
