About the Job
Construction, installation, and/or maintenance of overhead garage doors.
Working with carpentry and hand/power tools, as well as various materials to install, repair, maintain, or replace doors.
Drive to job sites to assess work and complete necessary actions.
Ensure the garage door opener and all electronic components are working properly.
Communicating directly with clients to provide satisfactory customer service.
A Garage Door Installer is also responsible for documenting work and maintaining inventory.
About You
High school diploma or GED required.
Mechanically inclined.
Ability to work a full‑time schedule.
Valid and clean 3‑year driving record (MVR will be run prior to hire).
Relevant prior experience in a related field of garage door and opener service construction, framing, HVAC, or related field.
Physical ability to work on feet an entire shift and carry/move objects weighing up to 70+ lbs, in the outdoor elements.
Ability to successfully pass pre‑employment background check.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate with the customer in an up‑sell and solution‑based conversation.
Ability to read and understand directions and instructions.
A team player.
Organized, innovative, and possession of an excellent work ethic.
Flexible, “do whatever it takes” approach.
Aptitude for problem solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
Pride yourself on safety, accuracy, and speed.
Comfortable with piece‑rate work.
Responsibilities
Safely operating company vehicle.
Maintaining a safe and clean work site, equipment, and company vehicle.
Assisting with commercial and residential garage door issues.
Review work orders for accuracy and completeness before departing the job site.
Working hand in hand with management to ensure all job site readiness and reporting any issues immediately.
