D.H. Griffin Companies is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Charlotte, NC. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring the safety and longevity of our vehicles. Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance checks on company-owned and/or leased vehicles and equipment
Repair, replace, clean, and lubricate vehicle/equipment parts as necessary
Examine and repair hydraulic components for fluid leaks, ruptured hoses, or worn gaskets
Travel to job sites to make repairs to heavy equipment as necessary
Use diagnostic devices to identify components in need of adjustment or repair
Rebuild or replace engines, repair hydraulic fluid pumps, and correct electrical problems as needed
Work in various environments, including hot and cold temperatures
Complete repair orders and use e-log/log book
Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years job-related experience
Knowledge of small engine equipment, such as generators and compressors (preferred)
Experience with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and brake systems
Knowledge of heavy equipment parts and performance requirements, including hydraulics
Advanced education or training in electronic computerized diagnostic systems and equipment (preferred)
Mechanical aptitude and ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend service manuals
Proficient in using hand and power tools, welding and flame cutting equipment
Valid driver's license and safe driving habits
