Overview
The Electrical Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial electrical projects. The estimator has a thorough understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards. They analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine material, labor, and time requirements while ensuring all estimates are complete, competitive, and aligned with company objectives. This role is key in supporting a commitment to quality, accuracy, and client satisfaction through precise estimating and efficient bid preparation.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Weekend work as needed, based on project demands

Qualifications
3+ years of experience in electrical estimating (commercial projects preferred)
In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, systems and installation methods
Proficiency in estimating software such as Conest Intellabid and Bluebeam
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
Strong math and analytical skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman or Master Electrician license (a plus, not required)
Experience with Design-Build projects
Responsibilities
Prepare detailed, accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical projects.
Analyze blueprints, specifications and related documents to determine material, labor and time requirements.
Perform comprehensive material and labor take-offs with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders to gather necessary project information.
Submit, track and follow up on bids and proposals in a timely and professional manner.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure access to current pricing and product information.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks and site visits as required to verify project conditions and scope.
Monitor awarded projects to confirm alignment between estimated and actual costs, providing feedback for future estimating improvements.
Perform other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying physical conditions.
Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and outdoors as needed.
