Class A Diesel Mechanic Technician – Performance Foodservice
Location: Monroe, OH
Schedule: 11:00 pm – 7:00 am, Sunday–Thursday. Job is full time (Mid‑Senior level).
Position Purpose Responsible for diagnosing and repairing medium to heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, refrigerated units and support vehicles with minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal trucking regulations, communicate with co‑workers, document all repairs and parts used, and perform road‑call services as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and component inspections on fleet diesel equipment.
Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other key parts; replace components as required.
Verify equipment licensing and registration to ensure road‑worthiness.
Complete thorough documentation for work orders via the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
Use hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, gauges) and power tools (pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, jacks, hoists).
Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication.
Train other employees.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
5–7 years of proven experience repairing medium to heavy‑duty vehicles, including PMs, tire & wheel service, air & disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and electronic component repair.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in A/C refrigeration.
Compensation & Benefits
$34.00 per hour or more based on experience.
$5,000 Tool Allowance paid quarterly over 2 years.
