As a Civil Engineer/Designer, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the daily operations of specific projects. Your responsibilities will include supporting plan production, ensuring quality assurance, and engaging in technical engineering tasks. You will also assist the Project Manager with technical design using AutoCAD 3D. This position involves executing pre-established engineering design tasks related to site civil engineering, including road design, utilities, storm drainage, storm water management, sanitary sewer, site grading, and sediment and erosion control. Occasionally, you may assist with client contact and phone calls.
Responsibilities
Assist with daily project operations, focusing on plan production and quality assurance.
Support the Project Manager in technical design using AutoCAD 3D.
Execute engineering design tasks for site civil engineering projects, including road design and utilities.
Manage storm drainage, storm water management, sanitary sewer, site grading, and erosion control.
Occasionally handle client contacts and phone communications.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D with at least 3-5 years of experience.
Experience in land development or transportation design for 3-5 years.
1-2 years of experience working with Montgomery, Baltimore County, or DC Permitting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree in civil engineering is ideal but not required for temporary positions.
Experience in hydraulics and hydrology is a huge plus.
Background in civil engineering preferred, but structural or architecture backgrounds will be considered.
Work Environment The work environment consists of about 15 total employees, fostering a very close-knit atmosphere with numerous company outings. Due to the smaller size, engineers are involved in a wider scope of project tasks compared to larger firms, providing a comprehensive project experience.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, MD.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 – $45.67/hr.
