Gpac is partnered with a well‑established agriculture retail operation serving local farmers and agribusinesses with seed, crop protection, fertilizer, and precision agriculture solutions. Due to continued growth, we are confidentially seeking an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure accuracy, and support strategic decision‑making in a fast‑paced rural environment. The Controller reports directly to ownership and will manage all accounting functions, supervise office staff, and maintain operational efficiency using AgVance software.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee full‑cycle accounting (A/P, A/R, payroll, reconciliations, month‑end close)
Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and cash‑flow forecasting
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax filings, and agricultural co‑op/retail regulations
Lead and develop a small office team (2–4 staff)
Optimize AgVance for inventory, grain settlements, customer accounts, and reporting
Streamline office administration, filing systems, and internal controls
Collaborate with agronomy, sales, and operations teams on cost analysis and profitability
Ideal Candidate Profile / Required Experience (Minimum 1 Year In Each)
Agriculture (retail, co‑op, grain, or agronomy operations)
AgVance Software (hands‑on daily use – invoicing, inventory, reporting)
Supervising (direct reports in office or retail setting)
Office Administration (workflow management, documentation, compliance)
Accounting Processes & Filing (A/P, A/R, reconciliations, audit preparation)
Additional Preferences
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Ag Business (preferred)
Experience with agricultural lending, patronage, or equity redemption
Strong Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems
Ability to thrive in a rural, customer‑facing environment
