Job Description Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) is a retailer‑owned cooperative serving over 3,000 retail member stores with a complete assortment of grocery, fresh meat, fresh produce, specialty foods, health care, and general merchandise items. Through an extensive distribution network and nine distribution centers, AWG and its subsidiaries deliver in over 28 states. In addition to its cooperative wholesale operations, the company also operates subsidiary companies providing real‑estate and supermarket development services, digital marketing services, and wholesale supply services for health and beauty care, general merchandise, specialty/international foods and pharmaceuticals.

Summary Ensure the accuracy of all items in the warehouse by verifying descriptions, expiration dates, UPCs, and inventory, and slot the warehouse in an organized and logical selection pattern for maximum production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research warehouse scratches and perform slot checks for buyers.

Pull close‑dated dairy and run the 10 and Under report.

Set up new items and adjust inventory from 10 and Under.

Load food bank trailer with donated product and handle loading of any other donated product as requested.

Pull manuals as requested.

Verify expiration dates, pull close‑dated product.

Verify inventory in aisles as assigned.

Make appropriate adjustments.

Check and research problem locales.

Prepare spreadsheets on staged inventory.

Prepare inventory reports as assigned.

Research and correct any receiving problem pallets.

Create and assign new footprints to products.

Work as a member of the AWG team so that the total job responsibilities are met, stressing cooperation, integrity, tact, and consideration with members, associates and division management.

Qualification Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education, Certifications, and Experience

High school diploma preferred; prior warehouse experience plus warehouse mobile equipment operating experience preferred.

Basic competencies: conscientiousness, detail‑oriented, safety‑minded, self‑motivated to achieve, high initiative, ability to work with limited supervision, team oriented, learning and applying information, ability to follow instructions in English (both written and verbal).

Language Skills Ability to read and speak fluent English;ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence relating to the position.

Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and apply concepts of basic math and algebra.

Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Possess the ability to work with coworkers and gain mutual respect with a common goal of increasing sales and profitability.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate safely warehouse mobile equipment.

Work Environment Indoors with adequate cooling, heating, and adequate lighting. Outdoors as needed. Working in a warehouse environment with moderate noise due to industrial mobile equipment operation and varied temperatures based on assigned work area. Temperatures will vary based on outside temperatures for the non‑air‑conditioned section and cool temperatures ranging from -15 to the upper 40's for the perishable sections.
