Role Description Arcadis is seeking a Senior Stormwater Transportation Engineer to join our Tampa, FL drainage practice. Under the direction of our established leadership team, you will work on exciting projects that challenge you and grow your career. A flexible work environment allows you to collaborate with a team on local, national, and international projects.

Role Accountabilities

Engineering design for roadway drainage and design-build projects, including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and bridge replacements across the southeast.

Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, pond design, and erosion and sedimentation control.

Prepare construction plans and project displays.

Prepare cost estimates, reports, and technical memos.

Lead marketing efforts for drainage and assist in proposal development, LORs, presentations, and interviews.

Provide quality control reviews for drainage calculations and plans.

Utilize design software such as MicroStation, Inroads, ORD-SUDA, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Microsoft Excel, GIS, ICPR, HEC‑RAS, HY8, FlowMaster, Pond Pack, StormCAD, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC‑RAS 2D.

Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines, including roadway, structures, utilities, etc.

Direct and mentor junior engineers.

Manage a team of up to five engineers.

Requires no technical supervision.

Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications

10+ years of relevant FDOT drainage design experience.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited University.

Florida PE.

Key Skills/Attributes

Experience working on FDOT projects.

In-depth understanding of Bridge Hydraulics Analysis.

Knowledge of FEMA floodplain regulations.

Understanding of stormwater design, including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems.

Experience with permitting requirements of Water Management Districts and FDEP.

Knowledge of stormwater treatment using BMPs suitable for transportation projects.

Effective written and verbal communication, teamwork skills, and flexibility to complete a wide range of tasks including field work.

Initiative and willingness to tackle new projects and challenges regularly.

The salary range for this position is $126,592 – $161,405. Actual salaries vary based on experience, education, and other factors.
