Position Overview Burlington’s Response and Investigation Center (BRIC) is the security operations center for the retailer. The Specialist supports the store fleet with 24/7 oversight and execution of essential BRIC functions, including incident response, threat monitoring, and investigation support.
A Day in the Life The schedule is second shift (1:30 pm – 12:00 am) on a 4‑day weekly rotation that includes rotating weekends.
Responsibilities
Facilitate intake of incident reports from store teams and assess events against established guidance to determine appropriate communication and escalation needs.
Leverage the BRIC’s suite of technology and resources to monitor for any threats or risks to Burlington operations, including weather‑related risks.
Execute internal and external investigation support, engaging in broad investigative initiatives at the direction of supervisors and managers.
Utilize case‑management and open‑source intelligence (OSINT) platforms to identify and investigate theft, fraud activity, and persons of interest.
Vigilantly monitor alarm activity during nighttime hours, respond to incidents promptly, and communicate with stakeholders to ensure swift action.
Operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CCTV systems for effective surveillance and to audit third‑party guard compliance.
Evaluate and execute emergency guard requests, collaborating with field partners to ensure adequate protection.
You’ll Come With
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Criminal Justice, Communications, Finance, or Business) or equivalent high‑level expertise.
Proficiency in multiple software platforms: exception‑based reporting, case‑management, incident response/management, CCTV, and alarm monitoring systems.
MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Capability to handle sensitive, confidential information with high detail orientation.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Preferable experience: Asset Protection, Security, Emergency Management/Response, or Investigations.
