Maintain a clean, orderly and inviting cafeteria dining environment. Set up, stock up and clean up cafeteria service areas. Stock upper nursing units and retrieve soiled trays from inpatient units. Assist in dish throughput and assist in line set‑up and kitchen support. Clean and sanitize tables/chairs and microwaves; empty garbage throughout the work shift; use professional signage and seasonal decoration for dining environment. Stock service areas, including dishes, pots, pans, and other cutlery throughout department. Use direct eye contact and greet each customer with a smile and a greeting using a good tone of voice and body language; call him/her by name if known, when done serving him/her say “thank you” and/or an appropriate comment. Use courteous/caring interaction and service recovery techniques with timely and appropriate response to customer complaints or concerns. Use good judgment in keeping management and production staff appropriately informed and involved with customer complaints or concerns. Receive money and make change. Use consistent pricing guidelines for all customers. Keep and use historical overage/shortage numbers to adjust recipes/food production to minimize over or under production of food. Adjust recipes to meet food production volume needs based on patient census and historical data. Consult with supervisors and/or manager for use of left overs and how to best to minimize food waste. Remove trash regularly from department and break down cardboard for recycling. Help ensure kitchen remains clean and free to trash. Clean front service area before and after service ensuring orderly and sanitary operating space for café customers. “Clean as you go” and maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area including counters and floors with walk‑in/reach‑in coolers and freezers kept organized and clean. Clean up service areas after meal service. Use job specific cleaning list to complete cleaning duties as assigned. Clean equipment throughout FANS department including but not limited to stoves, steamers, walls, floors, etc. Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler Card required (21 day grace period).
