Quality Assurance Inspector (Weekend)

About the Role Responsible for final inspection of upholstered pieces and slip covers produced by Sutter Street Manufacturing, ensuring consistent seams, correct fabric, and overall quality before shipping. Focus on safety, service, quality, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
Practice safe work practices and wear PPE throughout the facility.
Inspect each unit for seam consistency, fabric defects, puckering, and correct cushion placement.
Verify product meets ½ inch seam specifications and other style requirements.
Check production tickets and confirm correct fabric, cushions, pillows, and labels.
Clean and maintain inspection area during the shift.
Suggest process improvements and work with associates to maximize productivity.
Scan ticket and load approved units onto the conveyor belt for next processing step.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of quality inspection experience in upholstered furniture.
Good math, reading, and written communication skills.
Clear understanding of production tickets and instructions.
Ability to perform multiple tasks in fast‑paced environment.
Strong teamwork, problem‑solving, time‑management, and independent work skills.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Basic computer skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
Physical Requirements
Stand up to 12‑hour periods; bend and twist at waist and knees.
Lift 20‑60 pounds frequently.
Good vision for patterns and color variations.
