An opening position is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support a K-12 school setting in Chandler, AZ. This full-time contract role runs through the current school year (CSY) with an anticipated start date ASAP and concluding on 5 / 21 / 2026. The specialist will work onsite, engaging with students across all grade levels to provide essential mobility instruction tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and develop orientation and mobility plans to enhance student independence.
Deliver direct instruction and support to students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system.
Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary.
Ensure compliance with national standards and certifications.
Qualifications
National Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification required.
Certification from the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) is preferred.
Experience working with K-12 student populations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work full-time onsite.
